Apparently, lessons on waiting one’s turn don’t apply when Nana is on the scene and Instagram needs content. Eight months pregnant and balancing a squirmy toddler, it’s hard not to laugh at this WrestleMania-level audacity. A cheerful, pointed reminder about fairness and not raising tiny line-jumpers gets nothing but huffs and sluggish retreat.

The second act arrives minutes later in the form of another toddler swinging for the fences with a plastic toy, followed by a genuine, breathless apology from a parent who actually gets it. Toddlers will be toddlers. Grown-ups, though, should not be the ones modeling “me first” as a family tradition. They say it takes a village, but sometimes it feels like the village just wants a cute photo and someone else to teach manners.
